Job Description:
The Manager, Supplier Quality is responsible to lead and manage the Supplier Quality function to ensure a high level of quality management system compliance, product quality and process quality for our suppliers. This position will be responsible for ensuring execution to strategic and tactical objectives, ensuring support for supplier continuous improvement activities/supplier certification programs, and product transfer across the North American campus.
- Provide direction and hands-on facilitation of the Supplier Quality Management operating strategy across the North American Implant Operations campus.
- Provide vision, guidance and effective communication to all team members to ensure the team’s understanding and achievement of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Talent objectives.
- Manage, coach, mentor, and develop the performance of team to drive and support a high performance work culture; includes writing and delivering performance appraisals, administering disciplinary action, providing positive recognition, liaising with Human Resources to ensure consistency in administration and compliance with Company policies, focusing on the development of high-potential employees and crafting succession plans, and establishing a collaborative environment that encourages and supports employee engagement.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget.
- Ensure employees are provided with proper training and development.
- Build a strong, talented team through active participation in employee selection and recruiting activities.
- Ensure provision of a clean, safe and environmentally compliant work environment.
- Develop and foster relationships with peers, other internal customers (Supply Chain, Purchasing Controls, Manufacturing, QA, IT, Finance, etc.) and external customers/vendors to gain perspective and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency when dealing with business issues.
- Evaluate North American supplier quality management team performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Implement continuous improvement activities as appropriate.
- Present KPIs to management at monthly business reviews and Management Reviews.
- Manage and provide guidance on implementation and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions and supplier non-conformance reports.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance and improvements of Implant Group and North American supplier management policies and procedures.
- Conduct on-site and/or paper based supplier quality audits.
- Monitor supplier quality management system compliance through a combination of on-site and desk audits per established schedule.
- Lead and manage the North American Supplier Quality Assurance group in the following responsibilities:
o Monitor supplier performance; Incoming Inspection nonconformance (NCR) management and resolution. Supplier Administrative return monitoring and escalation as necessary.
o Participate in problem resolution of technical issues.
o Developing and implementing supplier quality assurance methods and metrics.
o Executing the overall supplier audit schedule.
o Evaluating proposed supplier process and product changes.
o Support supplier certification activities.
o Support validations for new and modified processes/materials/suppliers.
o Participate in product transfers involving suppliers.

Qualifications/Work Experience: • 5+ years of related supplier quality management experience in a similar regulated manufacturing environment. Experience in a multiple plant environment preferred.
- 3+ years of leadership experience directly managing staff.
- Working knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulation and ISO 13485 requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and influence skills, with the proven ability to teach and coach individuals from diverse backgrounds with varying communication and technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to implement performance measures, drive team effectiveness and productivity, while maintaining high levels of employee engagement and morale.
- Demonstrated presentation and communication skills (written and verbal). Individual will present to all levels of the company.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project and Visio.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Must be self-directed, self-motivated and able to prioritize and resolve competing priorities.
Education and/or Special Training: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or other relevant field of study. Prefer ASQ certification (CQA, CQE, CQM).

Percent Travel Required: up to 30%
