Overview
The Sr. Project Engineer will be working with our Incubation for Medical Technologies (IMT) division in creating this opportunity. This is a new area of concentration and has significant runway. The Sr. Project Engineer will be pivotal in defining the role, creating the project plan, budget and staffing requirements. The role is an evolving and growing area for Stryker with visibility across the organization, resulting in diverse opportunities in this role.
Organization
The Sr. Project Engineer will be working to link Operations and R&D regarding launching a product from concept to prototype to market. The focus will be to lead cross functional teams on surgical medical devices on the development of complex electro-mechanical software intensive systems. This is a great role for someone who has a passion for R&D projects and wants a great jump start into Stryker!
Performance Objectives
1. In the first 30 days, assimilate all the data and learning the fundamental architecture of the product.
2. In the first 6 months, plan the project by budget, timeline, and staffing requirements and initiate Earned Value Analysis tracking.
3. In the first 9-12 months, select and coordinate suppliers (internal and external) and international counterparts in regards to the project plan.
4. In the 24 - 28 months, launch the new concept to regulatory and work with Regulatory about potential clinical studies.
Experience
The person selected for this position should have 5+ years of complex project management experience. An engineering degree (Bachelors) or related discipline preferred.

Qualifications/Work Experience: • 6-8 years related project engineering experience.
- Excellent analytical skills.

- Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, hammer, etc.), power tools and test/inspection equipment.
- Demonstrated project leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of applicable project management tools.
- Effective use of processing, spreadsheet software, e-mail, and other common software applications.
- Demonstrated technical or project management leadership on a design project or product platform. Significant role on several released products in the market demonstrating positive P&L impact.
Education and/or Special Training: • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited 4-year engineering program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering curriculum.
