Work with document control to ensure that proper revisions are released to manufacturing and that proper revision control is maintained for electronic design data (solid models, firmware source code, PCB source files, etc.).<br/><br/>Customer Preference Testing<br/><br/>- Supports the setup of product demonstrations and ensures that customer feedback is used to improve products.<br/><br/>- Plans ahead of time to determine necessary information required from customers to improve products.<br/><br/>Internationalization<br/><br/>- Drives the international release of products.<br/><br/>- Understands international regulations to assess what needs to be completed to release a product internationally.<br/><br/>Complaints and User Issue Resolution<br/><br/>- Works with quality and tech support to troubleshoot problems, trend complaints, and analyze data to improve overall product quality and ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved through issue resolution.<br/><br/>Product Maintenance<br/><br/>- Works with operations teams to maintain existing products; resolving issues with vendors, and managing new product revisions.<br/><br/>Project Tracking and Status Reporting<br/><br/>- Tracks project progress and presents periodic status updates to supervisor, project teams and/or senior staff.<br/><br/>Tradeshows<br/><br/>- Attends tradeshows related to current product lines to gather information/knowledge concerning technology and industry trends to resolve future design problems.<br/><br/>Sales Meetings<br/><br/>- Attends Sales Meetings for the purpose of setting up and training the sales representatives on new and existing products.<br/><br/>Customer Interaction<br/><br/>- Visits customer sites to discuss products/projects, and observe products in use.<br/><br/>Mentoring<br/><br/>- Mentors more junior engineers to help them improve.<br/><br/>- Other duties as assigned by manager.<br/><br/>- Has the independence and authority to perform required tasks to ensure all provisions of quality system are met.<br/><br/>SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED<br/><br/>- 5-10 years experience in firmware design and development<br/><br/>- Expert in C development in embedded environment<br/><br/>- Experience in all aspects of Software Development Lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, development, test, launch and product sustainment/customer support<br/><br/>- Excellent communication skills &#8211; ability to communicate technical information to a wide audience from peers through upper management.<br/><br/>- Strong understanding of electrical design &#8211; ability to read and understand schematics and electrical datasheets<br/><br/>Our current microprocessor platforms (nice to have experience, but not required):<br/><br/>- Freescale HCS08 Microcontrollers<br/><br/>- NXP LPC series ARM Microprocessors<br/><br/>- TI C6747 series DSPs<br/><br/>- Altera NiOS II Embedded Processors<br/><br/><br/>- Good presentation skills.<br/><br/>- Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.<br/><br/>- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.<br/><br/>- Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, etc.), power tools and test/inspection equipment.<br/><br/>- Design and implement firmware with a variety of embedded development tools.<br/><br/>- Benchmark embedded systems designs and implementations<br/><br/>EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED<br/><br/>- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.</td></tr>
